چکیده

P R O S P E C T is a radiative transfer model based on Allen's generalized "'plate model" that represents the optical properties of plant leaves from 400 nm to 2500 nm. Scattering is described by a spectral refractive index (n) and a parameter characterizing the leaf mesophyll structure (N). Absorption is modeled using pigment concentration (Ca+ b), water content (Cw), and the corresponding specific spectral absorption coefficients ( g a + b and Kw). The parameters n, Ka+b, and K~ have been fitted using experimental data corresponding to a wide range of plant types and status. PROSPECT has been tested successfully on independent data sets. Its inversion allows one to reconstruct, with reasonable accuracy, leaf reflectance, and transmittance features in the 400-2500 nm range by adjusting the three input variables N, C a + b, and C w.

Limitations and Improvements of the Leaf Optical Properties Model Leaf Incorporating Biochemistry Exhibiting Reflectance and Transmittance Yields (LIBERTY)

Leaf Incorporating Biochemistry Exhibiting Reflectance and Transmittance Yields (LIBERTY) models the effects of leaf biochemical concentrations on reflectance spectra on the basis of Melamed theory, which has several limitations. These are: (1) the radiation components are not treated satisfactorily; (2) the directional changes of both particle and sublayer scattering ratios are not considered;...

An Advanced Leaf Optical Properties Model including Photosynthetic Pigments

PROSPECT, a widely-used leaf directional-hemispherical reflectance and transmittance model, currently treats the behaviour of chlorophylls a, b, carotenoids, and anthocyanins uniformly, leading to errors. A finer discrimination among these pigments in lightabsorbing plant tissues should improve the model. In this paper, a new calibration and validation phase of PROSPECT is performed using two c...

Early detection of crop injury from herbicide glyphosate by leaf biochemical parameter inversion

Early detection of crop injury from herbicide glyphosate is of significant importance in crop management. In this paper, we attempt to detect glyphosate-induced crop injury by PROSPECT (leaf optical PROperty SPECTra model) inversion through leaf hyperspectral reflectance measurements for non-GlyphosateResistant (non-GR) soybean and non-GR cotton leaves. The PROSPECT model was inverted to retrie...

Extraction of Vegetation Biophysical Parameters by Inversion of the PROSPECT + SAIL Models on Sugar Beet Canopy Reflectance Data. Application to TM and AVIRIS Sensors

T h e PROSPECT leaf optical properties and SAIL canopy reflectance models were coupled and inverted using a set of 96 AVIRIS (Airborne Visible~Infrared Imaging Spectrometer) equivalent spectra gathered in afield experiment on sugar beet plots expressing a large range in leaf area index, chlorophyll concentration, and soil color. In a first attempt, the model accurately reproduced the spectral r...

Modulation Response and Relative Intensity Noise Spectra in Quantum Cascade Lasers

Static properties, relatively intensity noise and intensity modulation response in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) studied theoretically in this paper. The present rate equations model consists of three equations for the electrons density in the conduction band and one equation for photons density in cavity length. Two equations were derived to calculate the noise and modulation response. Calcula...
